Treatment of severe burns is centralized at our Burn Center on Ward U2 at Jorvi Hospital.

Ward U2 has a national responsibility for the treatment of demanding burn injuries requiring intensive care. Jorvi Hospital also houses an inpatient ward, an outpatient clinic and rehabilitation facilities for burn injury patients.

  • In 2021, we cared for 412 patients on their first visit to the outpatient clinic. 
  • There were 52 patients with burns requiring intensive care in the course of the year. 
  • We treated 91 patients on our wards.  

Patients came in with injuries for instance from open flames, sauna stoves and high-voltage electricity.
