During the year under review, nearly 127,000 cases of coronavirus were diagnosed among residents of the HUS area. We cared for a total of 2,156 coronavirus patients in inpatient care and intensive care.

The number of coronavirus patients in care at any one time peaked in March and at the end of the year. In March, there was a larger percentage of intensive care patients than at the end of the year.

A total of 2,156 individual coronavirus patients were treated at HUS in 2021. By the end of the year, about 96% of them had been discharged or referred to further treatment.
