New Children's Hospital - Units

In Pediatric Intensive Monitoring Unit Laakso, we treat patients with a temporary and short-term need for continuous monitoring or frequent medication or laboratory sampling.

At the Pediatric Outpatient Clinic at New Children’s Hospital, we examine and treat children and adolescents under the age of 16 who need outpatient specialized medical care. We treat patients in pediatric diseases, pediatric surgery, and pediatric neurology.

In the Pediatric Pain Center of New Children's Hospital, we treat patients with long-term pain, cancer pain or functional pain syndrome.

In the physiotherapy unit at New Children's Hospital, we treat children and adolescents who are in need of physiotherapy, as assessed by a physician.

The staff of the Play and Activity Unit of New Children's Hospital organizes age-appropriate activities for children and adolescents during their stay in the hospital.

In the HUS Rare Diseases Center, we promote the diagnosis, monitoring, and treatment of rare diseases.

Through rehabilitation counseling at New Children's Hospital, we are able to assess how the child’s or adolescent’s injury or illness affects their coping in everyday life and participating in age-appropriate chores and activities at home, in daycare, and in school.

Social work at New Children's Hospital is aimed at supporting the family during a child’s illness.

The work of speech therapists at New Children's Hospital focuses on performing functional capacity evaluations for children and adolescents and guiding the adults in the child’s/adolescent’s life.

In the Surgery and Anesthesia Unit of New Children's Hospital, we treat patients under the age of 16.
