Vascular Surgery Outpatient Clinic, Meilahti Tower Hospital
At the Vascular Surgery Outpatient Clinic, we examine, treat and monitor diseases related to blood vessels outside the skull and chest cavity.
At the Vascular Surgery Outpatient Clinic, we treat patients with:
- acute or chronic pain in a lower extremity at rest or during walking and/or a wound in a lower extremity due to arterial insufficiency
- abdominal aortic aneurysm
- carotid artery stenosis or aneurysm
- abdominal pain or upper limb pain due to arterial insufficiency
- renal failure requiring vascular access surgery or
- widespread malignant melanoma of a limb requiring isolated limb perfusion chemotherapy.
Patients come to a physician’s appointment at the Vascular Surgery Outpatient Clinic based on a referral to be examined and have their need for treatment assessed. The Vascular Surgery Outpatient Clinic operates an Artery Laboratory where nurses perform ankle and toe pressure measurements and oxygen partial pressure tests to study the circulation in a limb. In addition, the clinic offers nurse’s appointments for ultrasound examinations and wound care.
