Information on changes at HUS starting next year

On January 1, 2023, the responsibility for organising health, social and rescue services will be transferred from municipalities and joint authorities to wellbeing services counties. The operations of Joint Authority of the Helsinki and Uusimaa Hospital District, i.e. Joint Authority HUS, will end, and HUS will become HUS Group on 1 January 2023.
HUS will continue to be responsible for the organisation of specialist hospital care in the Uusimaa region and its area of cooperation (YTA area) and HUS’s national responsibilities will remain the same.
HUS is preparing for the social and health services reform by developing its organisation. The new organisation will launch its activities on 1 January 2023.
HUS will continue to be known by its brand name HUS Helsinki University Hospital and the HUS logo will remain the same. Official documents will carry the name specified in the base agreement, which is HUS Group.
Contracts will be transferred and the business ID will not change
As a rule, Joint Authority HUS’s contracts that are in force will be transferred as is to the HUS Group.
The HUS business ID will not change in connection with this reform.
