Wound Center
The Wound Center is a collaborative organization with vascular surgery and dermatology outpatient clinics located alongside the host unit’s Plastic Surgery Outpatient Clinic. The multidisciplinary team at the Wound Center includes a plastic surgeon, vascular surgeon, dermatologist, and two wound care specialist nurses.
The Wound Center’s activities are focused on wound prevention and effective management, harmonizing of procedures and record-keeping, networking and promoting evidence-based wound care.
The core activities of the Wound Center include:
- Weekly wound clinics at Park Hospital
- On site and/or remote wound rounds at the Skin and Allergy Hospital, Espoo Hospital, and Helsinki City Hospitals
- Training healthcare professionals, responding to wound consultations, teaching visits from wound nurses in various treatment units
- Developing wound care and generating collaborative networks nationally and internationally
- Project activities, content creation and content updating of the Terveyskylä.fi online service’s Wound Hub and TerveyskyläPRO professional’s Wounds virtual center in collaboration with the wellbeing services counties.
The Wound Center’s office and clinic are located in Park Hospital in Helsinki.
