In speech therapy at Nordenskiöldinkatu, we assess and rehabilitate adult neurological patients who have language cognitive issues or problems with swallowing, speech motor control and use of their voice, among other things. A speech therapist’s assessment requires a referral from a physician.
We produce speech therapy services in the Neurology Outpatient Clinic, neurological rehabilitation clinic and the neurological rehabilitation ward.
In the early stages of your illness, you will receive speech therapy as part of multiprofessional rehabilitation on the neurological rehabilitation ward. Some of the patients in rehabilitation continue speech therapy at the neurological rehabilitation clinic after their discharge from hospital. At the Neurology Outpatient Clinic, we assess and rehabilitate, among other things, those who are suspected of having a progressive neurological disease.
