Breast cancer monitoring at HUS

After your breast cancer treatments, your follow-up will continue at the Comprehensive Cancer Center for a period of 5 to 10 years according to your individual treatment plan.

Depending on your treatment plan, you will receive an invitation to have a mammography examination either annually or every other year. In accordance with the radiologist’s opinion, an ultrasound examination will also be performed if necessary.

Remote appointments and, if necessary, contact appointments are held by nurses and are carried out every other year. Blood tests will be checked in connection with the first appointment. After this, the monitoring of blood tests will continue in outpatient care if necessary.
