The Diagnostic Center tendered the software and equipment included in the digital ECG system in accordance with the legislation on public procurement in 2022. The system supplier is Neagen Oy and the equipment supplier is Medifin Healthcare Oy for the Schiller ECG devices.
The digital ECG system is a digital neaLink ECG information system for recording, analyzing and storing ECG examinations, integrated in the national imaging archive.
In the digital ECG system, it is possible to view and perform examinations and measurements in a single system. In addition, it is possible to view rhythm ECGs and additional leads.
In addition to resting ECGs, the digital ECG system can be used for storing reports on stress and Holter examinations that can be viewed anywhere in the system’s operating range. The system also provides the clinicians viewing the examinations with the ability to digitally analyze, measure, and compare ECGs. From the system, the studies are archived in the Kanta archive.
The digital ECG viewing and archiving service is available for units that conduct ECG examinations themselves or order them as requested by the laboratory.
The system and archiving service can also be used for recording and electronic viewing of examinations taken by other ECG devices not obtained through the HUS equipment services. Examples include short ECGs taken with patient monitoring equipment and ECGs taken by emergency care staff.
The range of devices covers three Schiller device models:

Questions to assist in device selection:
- How often are ECGs taken with additional leads? Is a device with 16 channels (additional lead simultaneously) required or is 12 sufficient (additional leads as separate examination)?
- Need for paper printouts? Paper printout sizes either A4 or A5 and differences in paper container sizes.
- How important is the physical size of the device; is the small size of the device beneficial? Do you often read the ECG on a screen, and a large screen may be required?
- Does the device need to be moved or is it always in a certain location? Do you need a wireless connection?
Instructions for use and instructional videos for the devices can be found on the digital ECG service portal. Each user of the service portal must register before the portal is enabled. Instructions for registration can be found on the front page of the service portal.
The digital ECG help desk is available during office hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. via the service portal and email digiekg@hus.fi and by phone tel. 09 4717 4000.
