Brain and other nervous system function studies

Keywords:

We conduct brain and nervous system function tests in our clinical neurophysiology units.

Potilas unitutkimuksessa

We operate in several hospitals in the Uusimaa area and in the central hospitals of Kymenlaakso and South Karelia.

With clinical neurophysiology studies, we investigate disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system and muscle function. In addition, we carry out sleep and alertness studies and examine the functioning of the sensory organs. We conduct examinations on both adults and children. Our methods are used to study respiratory disturbances during sleep, nerve entrapments, and epilepsy, among other things.

Studies in clinical neurophysiology include:

  • electroencephalography (EEG)
  • polysomnography (PolAmb)
  • neuromuscular function study, i.e. electroneuromyography (ENMG)
  • neuronavigation-guided repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation, rTMS therapy
