Gynecological Emergency Clinic, Hyvinkää Hospital

Keywords:

In the Gynecological Emergency Clinic of Hyvinkää Hospital, we treat gynecological and pregnant patients in need of urgent care.

Contacts

We treat, for example, acute and profuse cases of gynecological bleeding and pain, infections of the reproductive organs and acute problems related to pregnancy. If you are a gynecological patient, as a rule, you need a physician’s referral to access treatment. If you don't have a referral, you need to call the call-back service beforehand.

In the Emergency Department, we only handle urgent matters that cannot wait. If you’re calling about an appointment, please contact the outpatient clinic responsible for your care during office hours. If you are coming in to give birth, please call the labor ward directly.

Call-back service for gynecological, pregnant, and postnatal patients

Contact the call-back service, tel. 019 4587 2900, before seeking medical attention at the gynecological and obstetric emergency clinic. The call-back service is open 24 hours a day. We will call you back as soon as we can.

The call-back service is intended for urgent gynecological issues, and urgent issues during pregnancy and after pregnancy. You can also contact the call-back service in urgent issues relating to a newborn baby, meaning a baby under 2 weeks of age. If you’re at or after 22 weeks of gestation, the system will direct your call to the delivery room.

The Medical Helpline provides emergency health advice

You can also call the Medical Helpline, tel. 116 117, if you need advice on urgent matters. The helpline will guide you to the correct unit of treatment, if necessary. If your condition can be treated with self-care, they will provide you care instructions over the phone.

The helpline is open 24 hours a day. If you are not able to contact the Medical Helpline within a reasonable time and your situation is urgent, you can go directly to the Hyvinkää Hospital Emergency Department.

Do not contact the call-back service or Medical Helpline about the following matters

  • You need a prescription renewed
  • You have a chronic, prolonged condition without any sudden aggravation
  • Your issue is not urgent—contact the child health clinic (neuvola) instead
  • You have a life-threatening situation—call the emergency number 112 instead.
